I’m going to be honest, I hustled through college, climbed the corporate ladder, led clinical teams, and even started a six-figure business before hitting 30. But even with all these wins, I always felt like something was missing. I had this idea that self-improvement meant giving up who I was on the inside to become something “better”. Finding my footing in my career and relationships was a real challenge because I had a flawed understanding of what it truly meant to be healed. I knew I wanted a better life, I didn’t know how to get there without burning out.
Honest therapy assists women in identifying and addressing the deep-seated fears that fuel their daily anxieties, promoting clarity and (real) strength.
It wasn't until I read Shauna Nequist's book "Present over Perfect" that I realized relentless ambition can stem from various sources, including trauma. I began noticing this more in my practice with women who came from difficult circumstances and felt the pressure to accomplish everything at once, which was overwhelming them. Many of my clients find themselves torn between having achieved a lot in life and feeling like they have a long way to go with very little energy left.
In therapy, we identify primary protective adaptations that prevent true connection, clarity, and fulfillment.
Over the years of doing therapy, I have helped hundreds of women walk towards fulfilling careers, and relationships on their terms. As a gentle but firm presence in the room, I allow women to rediscover what it is they actually want in life.
